This year again we can look forward to the world's leading trade fair for organic food. Due to the current pandemic, BIOFACH / VIVANESS 2021 will not open its halls as a stationary trade fair, but will be held purely digitally from February 17 - 19, 2021.

GBA Group Pharma has established the analysis of cannabis flowers according to the current German Pharmacopeia (DAB) – monograph. Since March 2017 #cannabis is also available on prescription in Germany under certain conditions. More and more patients are switching to alternative drugs such as medical cannabis if all current alternatives have so far failed to provide relief. Currently, cannabis sold in German pharmacies, is grown almost exclusively abroad.

In 2019, various nuts were tested for aflatoxins and ochratoxin A in a representative monitoring. Overall, elevated mycotoxin levels were only recorded in a few cases. The mycotoxins aflatoxin and ochratoxin A can already be produced during harvest and transport, but also during storage. Therefore, nuts should be analyzed before import. Lavetan, our site in Turnhout offers testing services to the food and livestock industry. Now Lavetan is putting nearly 800 square meters of new laboratory space to use for livestock analyses, with a focus on ELISA and PCR techniques.
