Leen Van Campenhout started her new position as the new nutritional science manager at Lavetan on the first of October. She is a bioengineer with a passion for industrial microbiology. Leen brings broad professional expertise: from business to education. Her move to Lavetan offers an exciting mix of microbiology and education. She now focuses on team coaching and training development and deployment We spoke with her about her background and ambitions.

In January 2021 a new standard, ISO 10993-23, covering tests for irritation was issued that prescribes the use of in vitro test methods before considering any in vivo tests, all to fulfil the 3R principle of replacement, reduction, and refinement of animal tests.

With the acquisition of the Swedish company Key2Compliance AB, GBA Group is expanding its range of consulting and training services for the medical device, In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD), and pharmaceutical industry. GBA Group is thus taking another important step towards establishing itself as a broad service provider for international customers in this area.

Quality and safety are key considerations in the food industry. There is also the looming threat of various pathogenic microorganisms. We need reliable and sophisticated analyses on hand to rapidly detect these pathogens. But what happens when pathogens are detected in contaminated food during a crisis? Moreover, how do reliable partners like ourselves respond in such cases? We spoke to Kristien Adriaensen and Doreen Berghmans from Lavetan.
