On December 5th, 2019 the World Food Organization FAO points out the importance of the soil on the "World Soil Day". Soils are the basis of the ecosystem. They filter water, bind nutrients, and supply and feed the plants that feed humans and animals. However, soils are also exposed to high levels of pollution: pollutants from natural sources, but also from industry, agriculture, traffic and private households can accumulate in the soil. They enter the food chain via groundwater or plants. This year the focus of the World Soil Day is on the subject of "erosion".

The GBA Group will be participating as an exhibitor at the DECHEMA symposium "Strategies for the redevelopment of soil and groundwater". The event will take place from 25. - 26.11.2019 in the DECHEMA-Haus in Frankfurt am Main.

On November 21st and 22nd, 2019, the annual forum in the Haus der Technik in Essen will deal with the topics of asbestos and other hazardous materials in buildings and technical installations. This year as well, we will be sending our experts for environmental analysis to represent the GBA Group at this event.

The GBA Group will be participating as an exhibitor at the 29th Landfill and Contaminated Sites Seminar in Karlsruhe (29. Karlsruher Deponie- und Altlastenseminar) on the 16th and 17th of October. The seminar deals with current issues regarding the practice and politics of landfills and contaminated sites, as well as their closure and restoration, and even the planning and construction of new landfill sites.
