Since 1971, the "Ramsar Convention" has been in place to protect the world's wetlands. It is one of the oldest international conventions on nature conservation and aims to raise awareness for the protection of wetlands.

DCONex in Essen is a specialist congress with an accompanying exhibition on the subject of pollutant management. On January 19th and 20th 2022, interested parties and technical personnel can inform themselves and exchange technical information on a variety of topics.

Since 1992, experts from industry & authorities have been meeting at the annual Forum Asbestos in Essen. The GBA Group will of course be represented again this year as an expert in environmental analysis.

Digitization of landfill operations? Closure and recultivation of landfills.

This is the topic of the 31st Karlsruhe Landfill and Contaminated Sites Seminar 2021, which will take place as a hybrid event on the 20th and 21st of October. The event will provide information about current topics from the landfill scene and provide an overview of new developments and trends.

This year, the focus will be on innovations in waste legislation in Europe as well as the amendment of the Landfill Ordinance and the new KrWG Implementation Act in Germany. International topics such as the disposal of construction waste containing asbestos and climate protection measures at landfills are also covered in several technical presentations.

On 17.09.2021, the Bundesrat decided on the fifth amendment to the Drinking Water Ordinance. The amendment primarily serves to make the monitoring frequencies of so-called "b systems" more flexible.
