Progress in microbial analysis: Precise qPCR methods & new laboratory capacities
The precise and reliable analysis of microbial contamination is a decisive factor in building diagnostics and material testing. The GBA Group is setting new standards in microbiological analysis with state-of-the-art methods and a constantly growing laboratory capacity.

qPCR: Higher sensitivity & faster analyses
The quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) represents a significant advancement over conventional microbiological methods. While conventional cultivations take up to ten days and can overlook non-germinating microorganisms, qPCR offers decisive advantages:
- Higher sensitivity: non-culturable moulds are also detected, resulting in up to 25 % fewer false-negative mould detections
- Faster results: No long incubation times, analyses possible a few days after sample receipt
- High reproducibility: Precise results thanks to parallel duplicates
qPCR technology enables a differentiated assessment of microbial contamination, which often cannot be fully detected using conventional methods. The analysis of building materials in particular provides an enormous gain in knowledge - a central point for a well-founded damage assessment and preventive measures.
Expansion of our laboratory capacities: Now also in Austria
In order to make our analyses even more efficient and customer-oriented, we are expanding our network with a new location:
- HUS Salzburg (Austria) - setting up an independent laboratory evaluation for the Austrian market
By networking with our existing competence centers in Kuopio (Finland) and Mönchengladbach (Germany), we enable even more efficient processing of your samples.
Your partner for modern microbiological analysis
The GBA Group aims to combine state-of-the-art methods with practical expertise. In addition to the continuous further development of our methods, we are actively involved in research in order to create a scientifically sound evaluation basis for qPCR analysis.
We would be happy to advise you individually on the possibilities of qPCR and our extended laboratory services. Let's reach the next level of microbial analysis together!
