Market entry in Spain: GBA Group expands European laboratory network in the food sector

Hamburg/Murcia, May 2nd, 2022. With the acquisition of the Spanish laboratory group Laboratorio Químico Microbiológico S.L. (LQM), GBA Group is expanding its European laboratory network in the food sector. The entry into one of Europe's most important food markets underscores GBA Group's commitment to supporting local and international customers with expertise and a high level of service directly in key source and sales markets.

LQM was founded in Murcia in 1981 and has since established itself in Spain as one of the leading laboratory service providers in the food and environmental sectors. The company employs 70 people at its two sites in Murcia and Seville. The range of services includes microbiological, environmental and classical chemical analysis methods across all food product groups. In addition, LQM enjoys an excellent reputation in the analysis of residues and contaminants due to its outstanding state-of-the-art technical equipment and many years of method development expertise in specialized areas.
