From September 25th to September 26th the 6th European Forum on Extractables, Leachables, Medial Devices and Contact Materials Testing take place in Hamburg. The forum focuses on industry testing requirements for the identification and characterization of extractable, leachable (E&L), and non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) contaminants. Presentations from leaders in their field takes place over 2 days. On the 2nd day Dr. Heike Schmidt-Eisenlohr, expert for E&L studies at GBA Pharma Labs, presents a speech on ‘Extractable & Leachable Study with Integrity Testing & Toxicological Assessment’.

In order to provide even better support in the field of supply chain management to our customers in the food industry who purchase raw goods and finished products from Turkey, the GBA Group has begun a strategic partnership with Intercolab in Izmir. The goal of the partnership is to assist in the purchasing and assessment of raw goods and finished products by combining impartial sampling on-site, smooth logistics for transporting the samples from Turkey, and residue analysis “Made in Germany” by the GBA laboratories based in Germany.

The European Council agreed to a further extension of the date for the UK’s withdrawal from the EU at its meeting on 10-11 April. The extension will last as long as necessary and, in any event, no longer than 31 October 2019. EMA calls on all pharmaceutical companies to continue their preparedness for the UK’s withdrawal.

As of March 2019, the GBA Group is now an official member in the group of technical laboratories in the General Association for Decontamination (GVSS – Gesamtverbandes Schadstoffsanierung e. V.). The GBA Group was welcomed positively by the members of the association. The GVSS provides its members with a platform of experts that share the latest information on technical and legal topics, identify and deal with technical issues, and offer a diverse array of working groups for the further development of technology for decontamination and measurement.
