“In the subset of 12,579 samples analysed as part of the EU-coordinated control program (EUCP), 98% of the samples were within legal limits.” This is good news, but is everything really as good as it looks at first sight?

• 6,674 samples (53%) were free of quantifiable pesticide residues.
• 5,664 samples (45%) contained one or more residues in concentrations below or equal to permitted levels.
